Early Childhood Development (ECD)

SWAN provides an effective learning environment and holistic development for the underprivileged children by establishing and maintaining ECD Centers in rural areas of Nepal.

In Nepal, thousands of ECD centers lack basic physical infrastructure, playing materials and qualified facilitators to provide the joyful learning atmosphere that confines all-round development and responsible global citizens in the future.

Therefore, we encourage and support Government and community schools in operating Early Childhood Education & Development (ECED) centers.

Specific objectives are as follows:

• Providing a suitable learning environment and teaching aids for the physical, social, cognitive and intellectual development.
• Sensitize parents on critical issues of child development and highlight the importance of overall development and child rights.
• Strengthening school-based ECD centers and schools with teacher trainings, teaching aids, library, drinking water and infrastructure related needs.
