Inauguration and Handover of the Waswang Health Post in Rapti Municipality, Chitwan

 

November 2, 2023, Chitwan- The newly constructed Waswang Health Post in Rapti Municipality, Ward 13, Chitwan was inaugurated and handed over to the local government on November 2, 2023 amidst a function. Waswang Health-Post consists of six rooms, including three toilets, as well as a compound wall and gate around the property.

Speaking at the handover event, Mr. Ashok Praja, Ward Chair, Ward no-13, said, “I’m very thankful to the implementing and funding partners for supporting a construction of Waswang Health Post in a needy community. We fully take the ownership of the project and will offer a quality basic health care services from this health facility to benefit our people.”

Also, the health camp was organized on the same day where 145 patients were treated.  The event was followed by a felicitation of health workers engaged in the health camp.

This project benefits as many as 8,000 population from the Chepang community-most disadvantaged ethnic groups in Nepal. This project was done with the collaborative efforts of SWAN Nepal, Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP) and funding support of SWAN Österreich, SANTE SANS FRONTIERE (SSF), France and SWAN Deutschland e.V. and the Rapti Municipality, Chitwan.
