Social audit and handover of Shree Bhawari Devi Basic School, Udayapur

 

SWAN conducted a social audit and hand over event of the “school renovation and maintenance project of Shree Bhawari Devi Basic School” in Katari Municipality, Ward no 5, Udayapur amid a function in March. Around 150 people saw the event including key stakeholders, political leaders, parents, school management committee, students, teachers, and locals. The event was also attended by Krishna Karki, Founder Chairperson, Kalpana Karki, Program Director, Prekshya Lamichhane, Communications Manager, Shyam Kumar Majhi, Field Coordinator of SWAN Nepal.

In the event, SWAN showcased the programmatic and financial details on the project headings. Likewise, school also explained all the expenses made on the various headings of the project. SWAN team alongside key stakeholders and locals toured the school premises to learn about the upgraded status of school infrastructures. After the event, the local government has taken the responsibility of guardianship of the project.

With the funding support of SWAN Deutschland e.V, the Shree Bhawari Devi Basic School blocks are renovated & maintained, safe drinking water system has been installed at the school premises to ensure quality learning environment for school children. This project benefitted school-aged children from the catchment area who belongs to marginalized castes such as Danuwar, Magar, Majhi, Tamang, and Dalit.
