Scholarship Support

SWAN has been awarding a number of deserving students a scholarship to continue their education in schools and colleges. So far, over 2,000 students have been granted scholarships.

We help find sponsors within Nepal and abroad to pay for the children’s primary, secondary or college education. The students are screened based on their family’s financial situation, social status and recommendation from the academic institutions. Unlike most nonprofit organizations, SWAN gives out scholarships for a longer period- from kindergarten right up to Master’s level. However, in case of improvement in the financial situation of family during that time, the opportunity is transferred to someone in need of it.

The scholarship awardees are from Nepal’s districts like Baglung, Chitwan, Gorkha, Gulmi, Pokhara, Parbat, Bhaktapur, and Mugu among others.

For the Nepali academic year 2079/80, SWAN continued its scholarship support for 210 (110 girls, and 100 boys) underprivileged children.

As a development organization, the transformation our support has brought upon the lives of many students is gratifying. With this kind of support, our beneficiaries have been able to pursue higher education in the field of nursing, medicine, engineering, business, and humanities among other streams. It’s both humbling and inspiring to see some of the beneficiaries attain academic achievement as a result of our scholarship support.
